After the bloody events of January 1990, at a difficult time for our people, he raised his voice for justice and decisively condemned the policy of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and its leadership. He was together with his people. He immediately came under pressure and was persecuted. However, he endured it all and was not broken; he said his piece to the very end and, in protest, quit the Communist Party he had served for many years.
